Want to stick with the VAIO brand you know and love but don't have a lot of cash to spare? This affordable version of the VAIO S is for you.
It makes some trade-offs on specs to achieve a lower price point, but overall it delivers fast speeds.
With an i5 processor and 8GB of RAM, you still get enough power to run most apps smoothly. Even with multiple tabs and apps open, you won't notice any noticeable lag.
The solid-state drive also means blazing-fast boot speeds. Reduce storage to 128GB to reduce costs.
To get around this limitation, make sure you get an external USB drive to store your files. If you don't want to lug around an external peripheral, there are plenty of free cloud storage options online.
In addition to slight losses in storage space and processor speed, this model also downgrades from Windows 10 Pro to Home.
Honestly, it doesn't really matter to most users anyway, so it makes sense to save money by forgoing Pro.
Want to save even more money? If you still want a great all-around laptop but are ready to switch brands, take a look at the latestHP PavillonModel.

- 8th generation i7 processor
- SSD enormous
- No dedicated graphics card
- Smaller screen size than most gaming platforms
Should this be your choice?
Are you looking for a great VAIO computer for work or business, but still want to play a little? This must be your best choice!
Then we have bad news for you.
VAIO laptops are not specifically designed for gaming. This line of laptops is aimed squarely at corporate, office and school use.
That being said, you can still play occasionally as long as you pick the right model. Finding such a model is not difficult, as you can start with a known device that we have already listed and customize its specifications!
The VAIO S that we listed at the beginning of this article comes in multiple configurations. If you want to play, this edition is absolutely the right model.
The eighth generation i7 processor handles the integrated graphics much more smoothly than older models. With 16GB of RAM, it will exceed the minimum requirements for most games.
Aside from those two specs, the big draw here is the size of the solid-state drive. With a 1TB SSD, you won't run out of space to install anything in your Steam library.
Unfortunately, the biggest downside is that you can't get a VAIO model with a dedicated graphics card. That means you can get games running, but you won't get stable frame rates on high graphics settings.
Please note that the above battery life is estimated for word processing or video streaming, not gaming. When you play Fortnite, the battery life is much shorter before you need to charge it.
However, if you have the money to spend on a VAIO, you might want to consider a gaming laptop.
The ROG Strix GL702VI offers the same general specs but with a blazing fast GTX 1080 graphics card. For a price similar to the VAIO S, you can run absolutely any game on ultra settings.

What features should I compare when choosing Vaio models?
SPOILER ALARM
The CPU isn't necessarily the most important option.
Buy or specific notebookIt's a complex process unless you narrow down your options and filter them if you know your needs before making a choice.
First, don't skimp on the quality of your laptop screen.
Keep in mind that you will be staring at your laptop screen for hours, so you want one that has high quality and display.
For business and professional use, a resolution of 1080p or Full HD should work. For students, we took the lead and chose the VAIO Z (Flip) 2-in-1 laptop as it has a 2K resolution (2560×1440), perfect for details and precise results.
Next, consider your keyboard layout and layout. With a little care and prior research, avoid cramped or awkward keyboards.
If you ever get a chance to visit a store that sells them, I encourage you to take a look and write a few paragraphs to make the right assessment.
The overall build of the laptop is another thing to look at closely. However, this is not usually a problem with the VAIO.
No matter which of these laptops you end up buying, you're definitely getting solid value for your money.
Why should I choose a Vaio with an SSD?
The norm of using SSD (Solid State Drive) instead of traditional HDDs is slowly taking over the world for obvious reasons. That's why our list of the best VAIO laptops only uses SSDs.
Speed is everything these days, so you should definitely get yourself one.Laptop with SSDfor storage. Even a small 128GB SSD can outperform a 1TB hard drive in terms of boot and load times.
Space is not that big of an issue these days as we use cloud storage and external drives are very cheap.
So unless you're into video or photo editing, I'd suggest sticking with a laptop with a smaller, faster SSD instead of a larger, slower hard drive.
Find the perfect Vaio laptop for your needs
It may come as a surprise to some to learn that the VAIO is still on the market. Once you've gotten over that shock, it shouldn't be difficult to choose the right model for your needs based on our work, budget and play criteria.
Which of the best VAIO laptops from our competitor list would you wish for? Tell us in the comments!
